A few years ago, I quit my dream job – or so I thought (2017).  I was burnt out from the land of commerce and the toils of management.

As a millennial, my disappointment with the not-so-green, green industry was mounting, and topping it off; I was written up for “insubordination” under a new management regime.

Finally, I could put “Bad Ass” on my resume!!  #nailedit #ownit #entrepreneurspirit

For over a decade, I worked at Garden Center retail by day and as a freelance Landscape Designer by night.  I was wholeheartedly committed to creating the garden dream. Inside and out. I was in love with brand experiences- within the store, within the garden, within the home. I was an #HGTVaddict. To this day, I drive by houses and change their colors, decorate their porches, and imagine a thriving landscape of inviting plants. It’s all about the feels! #cominghome and #curbappeal

It was common to see people lined up for my advice on a busy weekend, but not because I knew all the things or had the best ideas but because I made it easy.  I made it personal. I had this uncanny way of reading people by the pep in their step and the color of their shirt, even the vibe the brand of their coffee gave off! Looking back, I was definitely tapping into some intuitive mojo. As a creative problem solver and a millennial, I devised a system to cut through the emotions triggered by making the “right” decisions and guide clients from a holistic perspective. I’m talking about the Big picture!  Sustainability at its roots.

If I was overwhelmed with the options we had at our fingertips; then I knew others had to feel the same.

There had to be a better way to duplicate this brand experience I was cultivating than by visiting the local plant store and leaving with a cartload of impulsive color and a few bags of dirt.

Where was the magic?

Why should you have to pick pretty or low maintenance, chic or non-toxic, pet friendly or pest-free? There is no compromising if things are in alignment.  You can have your proverbial cake, or marigold, and eat it too. That is the power of my design process: Rooted Sustainability System – it is a safe, stylish, and sustainable package wrapped in a virtual designer bow.

Here, I can share nature’s Grace that I learned at such a young age. I guide my clients through a simple, automated DIY or DFY process that integrates what you have with what you want (yes, I’m talking ALL those Pinterest folders) and includes the missing pieces- what you need to make it all happen.

In the end, clients have fun, plug in their favorite colors, and they were back in the game! #weekendwarriors #sustainablestyle #igotcho

I believe gardening is an art, an expression, a place meant to be enjoyed.  No green thumbs are needed. And the work will never be done.  It is intuitive.  As natural as the sunshine and the rain and as miraculous as birthing a child. It is all connected.

To be honest, I did not find what I was looking for from any business mentor or tequila sunrise.  I spent my career digging for it, though. My Pinterest folders were bursting at the seams! It was more profound and much more straightforward than I thought. It was my life’s curiosities.  #aliceinwonderland

I am reinventing what it means to be a Landscaper through my business, as a woman, as a mom, as a millennial, and as an advocate for authenticity- right out of my backyard, in the middle of NYS, where we get precisely 2.5 days of sun a year. I’m now servicing people across the country. * I’m just kidding about the sunshine part, but it’s close.  #quietrevolution

What began as a moonlight consultancy has blossomed into my dream life! An authentic brand experience that is stylish as it is sustainable, and it’s safe for my family to be a part of.  I cherish a kid, pet, and eco-friendly business.  #transparency #values

I had no idea that following my inner guidance system, my intuition, my deeper knowing, would lead me on this path of authenticity where I can create, inspire, and nurture the Art of Gardening that lives inside all of us- One yard at a time.

My Childhood Inspiration

My childhood consisted of moving 18 times before my 16th birthday, Sunday drives with Tom Petty and a pint of strawberries, and random cards full of x’s and o’s from Dad- with a polaroid of a house he built somewhere very south of wherever we were.  Somehow, Grandma’s gardens were always at the end of the rainbow we were chasing.  They became my safe haven. A place between safety and joy because they had this incredible grounding effect that not only felt like home but filled me up.   They taught me to hope and faith- how to hang on and let go simultaneously.  The air, the earth, the rainstorms, and the bountiful rows of sweet, luscious peonies. My Pot o’gold.
